Leek | Large Musselburgh

$3.95

Leek ‘Large Musselburgh’ is a time-tested heirloom variety prized for its thick, sturdy stems, mild flavour, and excellent cold tolerance. A traditional favourite for the home vegetable garden, this dependable leek develops substantial white stalks topped with handsome blue-green foliage.

Large Musselburgh is especially well suited to northern gardens and cool-season growing. Its impressive cold hardiness allows plants to remain in the garden well into the fall, providing a welcome fresh harvest as many other vegetables finish for the season. For longer, tender white stems, gradually hill soil around the plants as they grow.

With a mild, sweet onion-like flavour, Large Musselburgh is wonderfully versatile in the kitchen. Harvest fresh leeks for soups, stews, roasted vegetables, savoury pies, potato dishes, or wherever a gentler onion flavour is desired.

Reliable, productive, and wonderfully old-fashioned, ‘Large Musselburgh’ has earned its place in vegetable gardens for generations.
