Corn | Peaches and Cream
Grow exceptionally sweet, tender, and bi-colored ears of Peaches and Cream corn in your home garden. This classic sugar enhanced (SE) sweet corn variety is a beloved favorite among gardeners, prized for its gorgeous ears featuring a mix of yellow and white kernels, tender texture, and intensely sweet, sugary flavor that is wonderful for fresh eating, boiling, grilling, and freezing.
These vigorous plants produce heavy yields of uniform, well-filled ears throughout the growing season, making them a productive and rewarding addition to any large garden patch. Direct sow seeds in late spring after soil has warmed for Canada's northern climate, as corn thrives in warm summer heat and sunshine to develop its full, delectable sweetness.

How to Grow Peaches and Cream Corn from Seed
Direct sow corn seeds outdoors in late spring once all danger of frost has passed and soil temperatures reach at least 15°C (60°F). Because corn roots are sensitive to transplanting, direct sowing is strongly recommended over indoor starting.
Choose a location with full sun and rich, fertile, well-endowed soil. Unlike single rows, plant corn in blocks of short parallel rows (at least 3–4 short rows together) rather than one long single row to ensure excellent wind pollination and fully-kernelled ears.
Sow seeds approximately 25 mm (1 inch) deep, spaced about 15–20 cm (6–8 inches) apart in rows spaced 75–90 cm (30–36 inches) apart. Thin seedlings to a final spacing of 20–30 cm (8–12 inches) apart.
Water deeply and consistently, especially during silking and ear development. Keep weeds controlled while plants are young, and hill soil slightly around the base of stalks as they grow for stability.
Growing Corn in Canada
Peaches and Cream corn performs wonderfully across Canadian gardens when planted after the soil has thoroughly warmed in late spring or early summer. Planting in blocks ensures successful wind pollination across regional gardens.
Provide plenty of moisture and rich compost or organic fertilizer during the rapid growth phase to support strong stalks and large, sweet ears.
